Hello and welcome to my dream job - to support you and your little one
Hello and welcome to Windrose Therapy - my own dream job to work with you and your child.
I am going to level with you, parenting can be so hard.
The lack of sleep alongside the brand new and overwhelming level of information can be daunting. Even after working with babies and little ones for years, I entered the new world of parenthood with that same huge hit of pure joy mixed with anxiety.
Before becoming a parent to my beautiful 8 month old son, I really collected a unique array of qualifications and experience that has allowed my passion to work with families a reality.
I have worked across paediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, disability support, and hospital settings. This has included experience within the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, Flinders rehabilitation wards, community rehabilitation services, and paediatric physiotherapy services.
Alongside my clinical work, I have taught physiotherapy students at the University of South Australia, now Adelaide University, across paediatric physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, tutorials, and clinical placements. I love teaching future physiotherapists and it has strengthened the way I assess, explain, adapt, and problem-solve therapy.
I hold honours-level training in both psychology and physiotherapy, have published peer-reviewed research, and have experience collaborating within the pain science field. This background allows me to bring together a strong understanding of movement, development, the nervous system, behaviour, emotions, communication, and lived experience.
You can tell that I love learning? Well, even after a degree in psychology and physiotherapy, I still questioned there has to be more to helping bubs and their families. So I expanded my understanding of care by attending Emotions and Metaphysical Kinesiology courses and Children’s Kinesiology masterclasses - really emphasising there is more than just the physical presentation. There is so much more.
By combining physiotherapy strategies with mind-body and kinesiology-informed approaches, I aim to support people in a way that is gentle, responsive, and individualised.
So, that is how I believe I am different. I have taken the time and years of dedicated learning to really ensure I see the whole picture in my care.
My own journey with a bub who hates tummy time with the passion and fury of 1000 suns, has also encouraged me to grow and think outside the box to baby development. Thank you, my little man.
